Kenyan musician Bien-Aime Baraza has revealed why he initially hesitated to hire his wife, Chiki Kuruka, as his manager, and how the decision has strengthened both his career and their marriage. The Sauti Sol star turned solo artiste explained that while he was initially reluctant, working with Chiki has proven to be a game changer.

Bien appointed Chiki as his manager after Sauti Sol announced a hiatus. He credited her for helping him navigate his transition into a solo career, especially during periods of anxiety and imposter syndrome. “When I was transitioning from a band to a solo artiste last year, I had too many bouts of anxiety and imposter syndrome, and she helped put me in a good mindset and perspective,” he said. He added that business discussions often continued late into the night, even in bed, noting that working together has deepened their bond.

Initially, Bien admitted he was hesitant because he did not want to be seen as “the guy being managed by his wife.” However, he now describes hiring her as the best decision of his life, noting that her involvement opened new doors in his career. “Society rewards love, the universe rewards love, and it just opened up the floodgates,” he said, highlighting Chiki’s intelligence and their 11-year relationship.

Bien also spoke about their shared approach to wealth and family. He stressed that everything he owns is equally hers and that they are building a future together for their children. “We are building the future of our home. Our children, who we are about to have,” he added, underlining their joint commitment to family and career.

Chiki’s management has enhanced Bien’s communication skills, particularly in English, which has helped him connect with a global audience. Their professional and personal partnership has become a defining aspect of both his solo career and their relationship.

Bien-Aime Baraza’s story highlights the benefits of trust and collaboration in marriage, showing how combining love with business can lead to both personal and professional growth.
