American streamer IShowSpeed, born Daren Jason Watkins Jr., arrived in Kenya on Sunday, January 11, as part of his African tour, “Speed Does Africa.” President William Ruto personally welcomed the internet sensation, praising Kenya as a unique and magical destination.

In a video shared on TikTok, President Ruto said, “Jambo IShowSpeed, welcome to Kenya, karibu Kenya. Kenya is not just another country; Kenya is a pulse, a feeling, Kenya is home. This is magical Kenya, the origin of wonder.” The message highlighted the country’s significance and the excitement surrounding Speed’s visit.

During his visit, IShowSpeed streamed live for the 13th time on his African tour. He began at Upper Hill School, interacting with students and sharing insights about his streaming career. Later, he toured Kenyatta Market, where a large crowd greeted him enthusiastically. Speed also visited the Mukuru Affordable Housing project and joined locals for a basketball game, showcasing his engagement with communities across Nairobi.

The streamer’s tour continued at Nairobi National Park, where he fed a hyena, lions, a leopard, and a cheetah. Fans escorted him along Langata Road on motorcycles, chanting, “We love you, IShowSpeed.” His visit concluded with a meal at Carnivore restaurant, where he enjoyed a variety of local meats.

IShowSpeed also revealed that his Kenyan stream had the highest subscriber engagement on the African tour. “We are about to hit 47.9 million. I don’t think you understand how crazy that is. No other country so far in this tour has been able to gain this amount of subs in one stream. Kenya is so far number one,” he said.

The streamer’s visit has cemented Kenya as a top highlight of his African tour, combining cultural experiences, community interaction, and fan engagement.
