YouTuber 2mbili has strongly responded to allegations made by media personality Oga Obinna, who accused him of influencing upcoming boxer Majembe to pull out of the highly anticipated Vurugu 2 boxing match. The dispute has drawn wide attention in Kenya’s entertainment and sports circles, especially because the fight had already generated significant public interest. Obinna claimed that Majembe was making unrealistic demands and suggested that 2mbili was among those advising the boxer to withdraw from the event. The accusations quickly spread online, sparking debate about behind-the-scenes influence in influencer-driven sporting events. In response, 2mbili rejected the claims and warned Obinna against mentioning his name in connection with the controversy. He maintained that he had no role in the boxer’s decision and described the allegations as misleading.

Oga Obinna, known as Oga Obinna, had earlier addressed his fallout with Majembe and insisted that the boxer’s demands were not aligned with what had been agreed upon. He stated that despite setting aside a KSh 500,000 prize pool for the undercard match, he felt the situation had become unworkable. Obinna also expressed frustration that people around Majembe were allegedly influencing his decisions, including 2mbili. The remarks intensified public discussion about how influencer-led boxing events are managed and how contracts are negotiated in such setups. His comments suggested that the breakdown in communication was the main reason the fight could not proceed as planned. However, he maintained that he was not overly concerned and had shifted focus to other priorities.

2mbili, whose real name is widely recognized in Kenya’s digital content space, responded in a viral video where he directly addressed the accusations. He firmly denied interfering in Majembe’s career decisions and told Obinna to stop associating his name with the controversy. According to him, he had maintained silence through previous disagreements but felt compelled to speak out after repeated mentions. He insisted that his relationship with Majembe did not involve any discussions about withdrawing from the fight. He further questioned why he would attempt to sabotage an opportunity that could benefit a young athlete. His tone in the video reflected both frustration and disbelief at the allegations.

The YouTuber further explained that Majembe personally showed him messages exchanged between him and Obinna, which he claimed clarified the situation. According to 2mbili, those messages indicated communication breakdowns and blocked contacts that contributed to misunderstandings. He argued that the situation could have been handled more constructively through direct conversation rather than public accusations. He emphasized that both sides needed to listen to each other and find common ground instead of assigning blame. In his view, the conflict escalated because of poor communication and assumptions rather than deliberate interference. He also stressed that Majembe had his own valid reasons for stepping away from the fight.

Majembe, an upcoming boxer whose participation in Vurugu 2 had generated anticipation, reportedly made the decision to withdraw based on personal considerations and contractual concerns. The disagreement over the reasons for his exit has now become a focal point of public debate, especially as fans question the management of influencer-backed sporting events. 2mbili maintained that Majembe and his manager had not consulted him regarding the final decision, reinforcing his claim that he was not involved. He also reminded Obinna that offering opportunities does not give anyone the right to control others’ choices. This statement highlighted broader tensions in the growing intersection between entertainment personalities and sports promotion in Kenya.

The dispute between 2mbili and Oga Obinna reflects the challenges that arise when digital creators become involved in organizing sporting events. While such collaborations bring attention and funding to emerging athletes, they also introduce complex communication and contractual dynamics. In this case, differing accounts have fueled public speculation about what truly led to Majembe’s withdrawal. 2mbili’s denial and Obinna’s accusations continue to circulate online, keeping the conversation active among fans and followers. As the situation develops, attention remains on how both personalities will navigate the fallout and whether any formal clarification will be issued.

The controversy surrounding Vurugu 2 underscores the importance of clear agreements and transparent communication in influencer-driven sports promotions. It also highlights how quickly disputes can escalate when public figures share differing narratives on social media. For now, 2mbili stands firm in his rejection of the allegations, while Obinna maintains his version of events. The disagreement has added another layer of public interest to an already high-profile boxing storyline. Moving forward, the incident is likely to influence how similar events are structured and how roles are defined between promoters, influencers and athletes.
