David Mwiraria died on Thursday, 13th 2017 after along battle with cancer. The family announced.
David had on many occasions complained to the court on his appearance due to his frequent in the hospital.
He faced several charges relating to Anglo Leasing scandal which he failed to appear in courts.

- David was born in 1938, that is 78 years down the line. He has spent his entire life in the government.
- He got his master’s degree in Statistics from the Makerere University, Uganda 1966 (then part of the University of East Africa)
- He was the Finance Minister as well as the Minister for Environment and Natural Resources
- He lost his MP sit in North Imenti in 2007 after Silas Muriuki defeated him in 2007 general elections.
- He also testified in the courts for the alleged Wagalla Masacre, before TJRC, Kenya’s Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission.
- He resigned in 2006 as a Finance Minister after he was accused to have devised a plot to fraud Kenya about 6.8 billion shillings in Anglo Leasing scandal.
- Since then, he has battled to attend courts on the same charges, missing court attendances on many occassions
- He largely features in corruption audios released by exiled PS John Githongo on internet.
- United Kingdom banned him alongside other Kenyans accused in corruption from traveling to UK.
- He succumbed to bone cancer on 13th April 2017 at Karen Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya
