Safaricom users could not receive or send a text or a call, access internet while Mpesa users could not receive transaction messages for the better part of the morning.

Sorry we have a slight technical fault with the Network ,data and M-PESA services countrywide but the issue is being resolved. ^NP

This even baffled many due to it’s coincidence with the same similar error last year, same day and date.

Similarly, it collided with the current nationwide nominations being held by Jubilee and NASA parties.

Kenyans who greatly depend on the biggest mobile subscriber went ahead to condemn them claiming that they demand better services considering that Safaricom is well versed with such experiences.

The Treasury last year classified a possible M-Pesa outage as a fiscal risk to the country, given the platforms ubiquity in Kenya’s economy
