The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States celebrated the 60th Grammy Awards, hosted by comedian James Corden, at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Bruno Mars was awarded as the big winner of the night with six statuettes. Among them, the “best recording”, the “best song” and the “best album”.
Another of the great highlights was Kendrick Lamar, who won the awards for “best music video” and “best rap song” for Humble, a song from his album DAMN, and two awards for “best rap performance”, one of them with Rihanna .
On the contrary, it was a day for forgetting for rapper Jay Z: he had eight nominations and in the previous one he was emerging as one of the favorites, but he lost in all the categories.
Before the beginning of the transmission of TNT, the delivery of the first 50 categories of the Grammy Awards was made. In the category “Latin jazz”, the Argentine Pablo Ziegler won the statuette for his trio Jazz Tango.
The nominees for the 2018 Grammy Awards were chosen by the 13,000 members of the Recording Academy. It was the first time that the selection was made entirely through the Internet.
