SGR Section 1 Head office is recruiting 15 qualified mobile crane operators with at least 4 years experience in operating hydraulic mobile cranes.

(a) Duties and Responsibilities


1. Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
2. Inspect crane for safety issues on a daily basis.
3. Determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
4. Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
5. Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
6. Move levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis to raise and lower crane boom and to raise and lower load-line.
7. Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for pile driving or high lifting.
8. Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
9. Operate crane according to signals from helper.


Job Requirements


1. Have at least a D in KCSE
2. Hold a certificate of competence issued by a recognized institution certifying his competence in operating a mobile hydraulic crane.
3. Have at least 4 years’ experience in operating hydraulic mobile cranes.
4. Be committed to high Health and Safety standards.
5. Be committed to on time job completion and willing to work night shift.
6. Be prepared to work shifts or extended hours if necessary.
7. Hold a valid B, C, D, E driving license.
8. Have basic mechanical knowledge of crane maintenance.
9. Possess good oral and written communication skill.
10. Be familiar with legislative and statutory requirements in Kenya with regards to mobile cranes, lifting, and working at heights.
