Being a senior most public servants means that you are well served with a good salary, a successful career and then a glorious life.
But one is still incomplete until he finds a wife to complement his fortunes. Yet many top government officials have broken such myths and went ahead to serve without wives in the public offices.
Below is a list of bachelors who are still serving or served coveted public offices while they were still single.
1.MP Ngeno
Kenya’s lawmaker Emurrua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno lost his bachelorhood status after he married the love of his life in a traditional wedding ceremony on the last day of May 2018.
The MP had served for two terms before getting married , during which he kept it clear that a wife was not his priority in upbringing development in his area.
However, there was enough pressure from the tradion since he became an MP in 2013.
Trans Mara Sub-County Kipsigis Council of Elders Chairman Alexander Kosgei had ruled out that the MP must get a wife.
“Being married means one has a home and family,” Mr Kosgei said, adding that a wife would ensure continuity of the family. He said married people were more respected.
The lucky cute woman comes from Narok County
2.CBK Governor
At 57 years old Central Bank of Kenya governor is not married. Apparently he has the most genuine reason.
“I am single by choice and that is where I am today. You never know what I will have tomorrow,” he said during a vetting process before National Assembly’s Finance, Trade and Planning Committee.
Mr. Patrick Njoroge belongs to members of Opus Dei, a a Catholic belief of remaining holy from sex or a family with strong believe against use of contraceptives and siring of children.
It is the same ideology that is applied by top ministers in all Catholic churches across the world, where they abstain from sex and stay without families
3.Anthony Muheria- JSC
In 2011 he was appointed by then President Mwai Kibaki to be part of the Judicial Service Commission.He however left the office after a few days citing religious reasons.
Antonny Muheria who is also a strong believer in Opus Dei, is the incumbent Kitui diocese bishop. For him he was unmarried by the virtue of being a Catholic Priest.
4.Paul Mwirigi
At just 23 years old, Paul Mwirigi broke Kenya’s record of being the youngest MP the country has ever produced.
At that time, he had not money, car or fame. Neither was he married. Sources indicate that he found a lucky lady to date after winning the election as Igembe South MP
5.Stanely Kamau
Then in 2011 aged 42 years old. He was not married yet he was the Ahadi Kenya Trust Director. He was proud of his status.
At one point he was put to task and told to explain his marital status
“I come from Karung’e village, Mathioya, Murang’a. I am 42 years old and I am currently not dating anyone though I’m an advocate for a strong family life and hope to start one in the near future. I make most of my food at home.”
