Nation reporter Barrack Odour who was sandwiched between a love story gone sore has revealed for the first time what might be the cause of Sharon Otieno’s murder.
Journalist Odour who spend few days in the hospital, literately cheated death after he jumped out of a moving car after he sensed danger.
Speaking to his fellow journalists at the Nation Centre in Nairobi, he says that he had met late Sharon about a month ago on a mission to share a story with him..
At one point, Mr. Oduor traveled with deceased lady from Homa Bay to Nairobi to meet Migori Governor Okoth Obado but they could not since he had moved on to Makueni county with fellow governors.
According to Mr. Barrack’s story for the number of times they met with Ms.Otieno, he learnt that the love between Hon.Obado and the second year student at Rongo University studying Medical Records had gone sore.
“We met for the first time almost a month ago and she told me that she had been having an affair with the governor. I questioned her about her details and she said she was a student.
“She also told me that she wanted the story made public because the governor had neglected her. Even so, she admitted to have received Sh100,000 from the governor three weeks before our meeting, an amount she said was too little as compared to what she had been receiving from him before he started ignoring her calls and texts,” Mr Oduor said.
To prove her points, the 26-year old lady who was heavily pregnant showed WhatsApp screenshots and even recorded phone conversations of the two. Where the governor had accused the lady of having a love affair with the son and even the PA.

The reporter told his colleagues that the lady had been ordered by the governor to abort and even stop sharing excess pictures on social media.
Mr.Odour’s efforts to reach out to the governor’s side of the story was however met with some challenges, instead Mr Obado’s aide Michael Oyamo took over the matter.
“Governor Obado called me later and I gave him the story. He said he would not deny or confirm the allegations. He told me that his personal assistant would handle the issue.”
Communication between the journalist and governor, PA and Ms.Otieno was broken for about one week until when the two were re-united on a fateful day.
Sharon was constantly hesitant about the story being published in the media. From my understanding, she was not decided fully and so I took my time to conduct more investigations.
“She however kept sending some pictures to the governor, which annoyed him. I still don’t know the kind of pictures those were, but she said he was not happy,” Mr Oduor said.
Later, the two met, reporter and the lady in agreement to meet the PA. On board they left together for Kisumu only for the PA to alight on the way welcoming in two people on board who started torturing and harassing them.
It is here that after sensing death the reporter jumped out of the moving vehicle sustaining serious injuries. Few days later the lifeless lady’s body was found dumped in a thicket.
