On 3rd Wednesday, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) received results of the samples of DNA tests which was gathered from late Monica Kimani’s house after her brutal murder.
Police said that the samples have got strong evidence of the culprits who killed the 29 year old businesswoman before dumping her into a bathtub.
While speaking to the local media houses, police confirmed that they had proved beyond doubt the mastermind of the heinous mission but have kept the evidence confident before it is used it the court to prosecute the suspects.
On the same Wednesday, police interviewed for the second time two people who met with Joseph Irungu aka Jowi, to corroborate with the evidence they had gathered.
The two were a Lebanese national and a Kenyan citizen, their identity has been kept secrete for the purpose of witness protection.
The police also noted that they had sourced the service of cyber-crime unit to establish the people Jowi, a main suspect, had communicated with prior to and after the incident. CCTV cameras from her house were also being reviewed.
They are also reviewing CCTV footage that captured the suspect leaving the apartment, with the aim of establishing the identity of the man who was with him in the car,” the officers said.
Her killers had tied her legs, hands and tape tied her mouth before slitting her throat painfully from ear to ear. All her phones and her body were all dumped in a bathtub with running water.
Jowi is already in custody with his lover Jacque Maribe and businessman Brian Kassaine who also doubles up as their neighbour.
