10 Crazy Things President Uhuru’s Impersonator Did Before Arrest

 News of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s impersonator Joseph Henry Waswa shcoked the airwaves when it became clear that Waswa and seven other suspects who have been nabbed, conned Sameer Africa chairman Naushad Merali Sh10 million cash money.

Even though he has been off the news lately, he is a common figure who mingles with prominent politicians and VIPs in Kenya.

Here are some of the facts you need to know about Waswa.

  1. He was arrested in 2015, after aledgedly killing Mitch Kibichi, son to (former) Bungoma County Education Chief Officer David Kibiti . The two had a scuffle at Etonia Club in Kimilili before death incident was reported. He was arrested at Kisumu airport while on the run.
  2. He caused drama while appearing at Bungoma Law Courts in 2015 when he showed up with 10 thugs disguised as bodyguards. The Flying Squad had to come in and arrest all the 10 bodyguard who were later released.
  3. In 2016, he gifted famous Bungoma James bond free air ticket after the man better known as Saleh Wanjala risked his life to hang on the chopper that had brought the remains of Jacob Juma, who had been murdered in Nairobi.
  4. In 2017 again he came back to news when he landed at a remote village in Mwingi to pay pride price to wife Tabitha Maureen, he landed with four choppers.
  5. During the famous landing, he was in company of key politicians such as MPs Charles Nguna (Mwingi West), Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Caleb Amisi (Saboti) and Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills).
  6. In Kitui town which hosted the event, all the hotel were fully booked at an estimated budget of sh. 5 million. The ring costed more than 1.6 million
  7. In 2019, he was accused of ‘perfectly’ mimicking the voice of President Uhuru Kenyatta to corn the businessman a cool sh.10 millions
  8. Other key suspects arrested with Waswa were Gilbert Kirunja, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu Malala, David Luganya and Anthony Wafula 
  9. They were released on a bail of sh,100,000 pending the hearing of their case.
  10. The 29 year old man has been said to be living like a king. He owns five state-of-the-art clubs across the Country and car-hire business.
