The celebrated sports commentator took his last breath at Nairobi Hospital.
His demise sparked hordes of condolences messages from his fans and even big personalities such as President Uhuru Kenyatta and his DP William Ruto.

- He had worked in radio industry, for close to four decades in a row
- He had been working at Citizen Radio as a content producer since he assumed the role in 2016 to the time of his death
- Due to his excellent mastery of Swahili language during football commentary he was awarded with Head of State Commendation by retired President Mwai Kibaki on March 10, 2010,
- The late, a Brazil football fan, served many years working at at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and then Citizen Radio from 1999.
- He was largely asssociated with the phrase ‘Kadenge na Mpria’ during his hay days
- Mr. Njuguna was known to be battling with diabetes and high blood pressure , even though the cause of his death was not revealed immediately
- His careers began in 1970 as a radio producer with Voice Of Kenya, todays KBC, before transforming himself into radio presenter, TV producer, Newscaster and Soccer Commentator
- He also worked with BBC Swahili in London for about three years
- He was buried on the same day of his death at Kariokor Muslim Cemetary , according to the Muslim culture
- He will be remembered for creating a unique brand in Kenya’s football commentary which is largely practiced by key radio stations such as Radio Jambo, Radio Maisha , Radio Citizen and others.
