The teaser for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Sultan was released online on Tuesday.
Featuring Salman Khan “in and as” Sultan Ali Khan, a Haryanvi wrestler, the teaser oozes machismo. It promises to be quite a treat for fans of the superstar’s action hero avatar, which comes after a while considering he spent last year starring in more family-friendly films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015).
It is his first out-and-out action role since Kick (2014).
Unlike the badly Photoshopped poster that did the rounds of social media on Monday, the teaser looks slick and the film’s production looks handsomely mounted.
The teaser focuses exclusively on
Khan’s beefy physique and starry charisma. The film also stars Anushka Sharma, whose name appears on the title of the YouTube trailer link even though she isn’t part of the teaser. The cast is rounded up by Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh.
Sultan is slated to release during Eid, on July 8.
