TUKO.co.ke, one of the leading digital news and media website in Kenya is looking to bring on board a highly industrious and effective writer, and two interns.
TUKO are part of a global consumer internet company, Genesis, and they are number one in each market they operate in.
These are crucial roles and we expect you to convince TUKO before joining Kenya’s leading digital news and entertainment platform. As one of the writers, TUKO shall expect you to have cutting-edge writing ability, basic digital skills and a nose for extremely viral articles.
Above all, you should be a workaholic, more often than not, you will work irregular hours but we shall compensate handsomely.
Requirements:
- University degree in journalism/media studies or related field.
- Considerable experience in online/digital journalism.
- Creativity and ability to turn problems into opportunities is key.
- Perfect writing skills; narration and good grammar.
- An all-rounder; ability to handle any subject with ease.
- Strategic and analytical thinker.
- Workaholic and ability to go the extra mile.
- Highly passionate individual with the will to constantly learn and adapt.
- Work under minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of trending and breaking news and topics. Writing and publishing stories/photos based on a variety of sources.
- Publishing articles on social media. Ability to churn out articles in perfect English Expert in local current affairs and/or entertainment scene.
