The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 now has an official anthem, Beautiful Day, a collaboration between French DJ and producer Mathias Pace and Kenyan Afrohouse artist Idd Aziz. Released through MLIFE Music Group in partnership with Virgin Music Africa, the song blends Kiswahili and English lyrics to celebrate Africa’s cultural diversity while emphasizing unity through football.
The anthem was designed to capture the scale and energy of Africa’s premier football tournament, which is currently underway in Morocco. According to the producers, Beautiful Day combines African musical identity with a global sound, creating a cross-continental track that resonates both on the continent and internationally.
Since its release, the song has been played in stadiums and has gained traction on digital platforms across Africa. In Kenya, it has become a streaming sensation, while in Morocco it ranks among the top tracks on YouTube. Fans have also taken to TikTok and X, sharing football-themed content and dance challenges under the hashtag #BeautifulDayAFCON.
MLIFE Music Group CEO Mike Jean described the anthem as more than a song, saying it represents a moment of unity that bridges football, culture, and African identity. The accompanying music video, directed by Marc Nicolas Guillaume, highlights African heritage, youth, and the excitement of the game through vibrant visuals.
Idd Aziz explained that the track reflects shared pride across the continent, noting football’s unique ability to connect people from different backgrounds. Mathias Pace added that the goal was to make African fans feel represented through music, framing AFCON as both a sporting and cultural movement.
Internationally, the song has received praise from Moroccan-Swedish producer RedOne for its blend of African identity and a hopeful message for the next generation. Beyond charts and streaming numbers, Beautiful Day has been nominated for the Baobab d’Or 2026 First Prize for Civic Engagement, an award recognizing projects that promote youth empowerment and positive social change across Africa and the diaspora.
The single is available on YouTube and all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Boomplay, offering fans an energetic anthem to celebrate football, culture, and unity during AFCON 2025.
