Popular radio host Alex Mwakideu left his fans shocked on January 15th when he announced he was quitting from radio.

“I’m someone that the Taita people know because I have houses in Voi, Wundanyi and they know me plus there’s respect at home. When you have that, people will always ask you to lead different places,” Mwakideu said.

Alex Mwakideu was very categorical on his next move, that he was joining politics and his eyes were set on a parliamentary seat in Taita Taveta county.

Sentiments that seemed to have been inspired by his friend and former co-host Felix Odiwour aka Jalang’o who also quit radio to vie for Lang’ata parliamentary seat in Nairobi county

In December 2021, Maina Kageni announced to his fans that he will be retiring from Classic FM to relocate to US where he will be running a club.
