Arsenal To Honour Kenyan Fan Who Was Shot Dead By Police

Late Carliton David Maina who was shot dead last year on 22nd December by police in Nairobi’s slum Kibera will today be mentioned in Arsenal’s match program vs Cardiff City.

Arsenal, who were late Maina’s favorite club in EPL will kick off at 22.45pm today midnight on 29th January.

Amnesty International termed it the “hallmark of an extra judicial killing” after police had allegedly claimed the boy was part of a syndicate gang terrorizing residents



Aged 23 years old, he met his death from a nearby movie shop to home after watching a football match

Police already replied to the allegations confirming that the deceased was part of the criminal gangs.

The police received a call from the members of the public who said that they were being mugged by a group of youths. It is then that the police acted and shot one on the spot,” said Kilimani police boss Michael Muchiri adding that police recovered a knife and homemade gun from crime scene

  1. From Olympic primary school, he studied at Maseno High School where he scored an A plain in KCSE.
  2. Though Brookhouse School, he managed to secure a foreign scholarship before he was admitted in a top UK varsity- University of Leeds
  3. He was currently studying a course related to electronic and communication engineering
  4. He also presented a case study at Tedx Talk, talking about violence is slums and encouraging the world to stand against oppression of the poor living in slums.
  5. With this phrase during Tedx Talk, ‘We are a Man eat Man society!’ , it seemed like he had predicted his own death
  6. He was also behind a biogas invention as clean energy
  7. He was a big fanatic of football. According to his social media posts, he supported Arsenal FC based in London.
  8. He was also a player on the pitch, taking the role of a goalkeeper for his Nairobi club FC Interdjinamory from Kenyatta Hospital Estate
  9. At the time of his death, he was on school holiday and was expected back to school by January 2019.
  10. He was shot dead on Friday night, 21st, December 2018.
