Fashion designer Bolo Bespoke’s wife, Mueni, recently opened up about the challenges and triumphs in their marriage, revealing details about their past struggles with infidelity and how they managed to overcome them.
A Marriage Built on Friendship
Despite the past hardships, Mueni emphasized that her marriage to Bolo has been strong due to the foundation of friendship. She described their bond as one that goes beyond romance, ensuring that even during difficult times, their deep connection and companionship kept them together.
“Marriage is easy; it’s not hard. I chose my husband to be my best friend. When love is not there, friendship remains. Sometimes you look at your partner and you’re just mad—not that love ends, but that lovey-dovey feeling fades at times. But when that happens, friendship sustains the relationship. We wake up together every day, work together, and we are so used to each other that we cannot live without one another,” Mueni shared.
Overcoming Bolo’s Infidelity
Mueni revealed that Bolo had cheated on her multiple times in the past, leading her to leave him on several occasions. However, despite separating for months at a time, they always found their way back to each other.
“Of course, I left him many times after he cheated. I would stay away for a month or two, and the longest I left was four months. But he always came to get me. There was never a day he gave up on me—he always came back,” she admitted.
Although she experienced heartbreak, Mueni maintained that she never engaged in infidelity. She confidently stated that Bolo had moved past his cheating phase and was now focused on his career and family.
“We have moved past that. We have fought so many battles in this Nairobi. If people are waiting for his changing phase, it has already passed. He cheated so much back then, but now it’s time for him to focus on making money. I could never cheat. I have one husband, and I am a one-woman kind of person. One man at a time,” she explained.
Running the Business While Bolo Expands His Ventures
Mueni also spoke about her role in their family business, noting that Bolo had entrusted her with running it while he explored other ventures. She praised her husband for his ambition and hard work, saying that he is always striving for excellence.
“He has left me to manage the business while he focuses on other things. My husband is a man of great vision, action, and excellence,” she said.
