Bomet woman representative Linet Toto Chepkorir has bought her husband a brand new Land Cruiser. The vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser VX, was unveiled at AIC Longisa church on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
Toto said she bought the vehicle as a gift to her husband, Godfrey Kimutai Tonui, to show her appreciation for his support. She said Tonui has been a pillar of strength to her throughout her political career.
“I am grateful to my husband for always being there for me,” Toto said. “He has been my biggest supporter, and I wanted to do something special to show him how much I appreciate him.”
The vehicle was prayed for by the AIC Longisa by lead pastor who said the vehicle would be used for good and would bring blessings to the Toto family.
Toto said she plans to use the vehicle for her official duties as the Bomet woman representative. She said she will also use it to travel to her rural home in Chepkoilel, Bomet County.
The purchase of the Land Cruiser has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have praised Toto for her generosity, while others have criticized her for spending money on a luxury vehicle when there are more pressing needs in the community.
