Buru Buru Girls’ High School suspended two form three girls over using the illegal drug, marijuana in school compound.
The girls who said that the ash-like drug was rather a traditional skincare product, were send on a series of counselling after being send away on 21st May.
The school had been tipped off by an informant, who was believed to be a fellow student.Ever since the girls have been battling to prove they are innocent.
The girls claim they been subjected to emotional intimidation and coerced by the school administration to admit that they are drug addict when they think they are just innocents caught in the wrong positions.
In a letter written to their parents, the school says that the students were mixing the substance thought to be bhang with school meals.
“It has been an agonizing time for us since, even after the results from the recommended psychiatrists and urine drug screen toxicology tests conducted on the two came back negative, the school isn’t eager to accept them back,” says the mother.
However Dr Pius Kigamwa of Oasis Health Speciality Hospital who counselled the students noted that there was no psychopathological tendencies associated with drug use.
