The Government of Kenya has received fnancing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and African Development Fund (ADF), and a grant from the European Union (EU) towards the Multinational : Bagamoyo – Horohoro/Lungalunga – Malindi Road Phase 1: Mombasa – Mtwapa –Kilifi (A7) Road Section.
The Mombasa – Mtwapa – Kilifi Road Section is located in Mombasa and Kilifi Counties in Kenya and is a section of the Malindi – Mombasa – Likoni – Lungalunga road which is part of the Multinational Malindi – Bagamoyo Road Corridor Development project.
The project road is the main traffic artery through the North Coast, and is the main connector between Mombasa and Kilifi counties.
The project is divided into two lots: Lot 1:- Mombasa – Mtwapa – 13.5km and Lot 2: Mtwapa Bridge –Kwa Kazdengo – Kilifi – 40.4km.
Phase I of the Multinational: Bagamoyo – Horohoro/Lungalunga – Malindi Road (Mombasa – Mtwapa – Kilifi Road Section), has a component for provision of technical and vocational education and training of unemployed youth to enhance capacity and skills of vulnerable youth within the project area to t into the job market towards enhanced social sustainability.
1. ELIBIBILITY CRITERIA
Applications may be submitted by those who meet the following criteria:-
i. Basic Criteria for Selection for Vocational Skills Training
a) Must be Aged between 18 and 35 years old with no formal training at Diploma level or above;
b) Persons who are able to read and write with KCSE or KCPE Certificates;
c) Persons who may have dropped out of school with no formal training;
d) Consideration of the applicants from low income families and those living in informal settlements within the counties traversed by the project road;
e) Should be a resident of either Kilifi or Mombasa County.
ii. Preference will be given to:
a) Youth who are orphaned and/or those from single parenthood families,
b) Young single mothers who meet the qualifications;
c) Applicants who are categorized as persons living with disability.
d) Residents within the sub-counties traversed by the project

3. APPLICATION FORMS
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and consequently the Ministry of Health guidelines, applicants are encouraged to download the application forms from the KeNHA website (www.kenha.co.ke) to minimize physical visits to KeNHA offices.
For those not able to download the forms they may be obtained from KeNHA Coast Regional Offices, Public Works Building, 2nd Floor, Mahindi Road, Off Shimanzi Road, Mombasa or County Commissioner’s Office, Kilifi County.
4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Application forms by the interested youth MUST be stamped by the Area Chief or Assistant County Commissioner as a verification of the residency status of the applicant.
Deadline
The duly filled applications should be dropped at the KeNHA Coast Regional Offices, Public Works Building, 2nd Floor, Mahindi Road off Shimanzi Road, Mombasa, or the County Commissioner’s Office, Kilifi County by close of business on Wednesday 5th August, 2020 at 5:00pm.
Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
