On Friday 8th, June Court of Appeal nullified the election of Governor Alfred Mutua from Machakos county.
The court ordered Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct fresh election which Mr.Alfred Mutua will be eligible to contest because he was not found with any malpractice.
The court however found that the returning officer used an excel spread sheet to record votes instead of form 37A.
The victory was also denounced based on court finding of one of the county officials who was used as an agent during the election.
This will be great news for his close aspirant Wavinya Ndeti, who came close and second during the 2017 elections in August.
Wavinya Ndeti, the main complainant , had moved to the Court of Appeal after the High Court had upheld the victory few months ago.
