Kenyan content creator and comedian Crazy Kennar has officially released his first feature‑length film, Iscariot, marking a turning point in his creative journey. The film premiered on 25 November 2025 via his YouTube channel. This launch represents more than just a new project, it signals Kennar’s serious pivot from comedy skits to long‑form filmmaking and reflects his ambition to one day reach the pinnacle of film recognition, the Academy Awards.

Crazy Kennar began his career with comedy skits and short‑form content. Over time he built a reputation for sharp satire and relatable humour. He later broadened his ambitions, enrolling at a film school in Johannesburg to deepen his storytelling craft. Earlier in 2025, he wrote and starred in a film titled My Name Is Omosh. That film was directed by another Kenyan artist, yet it allowed Kennar to transition to screenwriting and acting in a feature format.

Iscariot carries significant meaning for Kennar’s career. He announced that five years ago he set a goal to one day win an Oscar. The release of Iscariot is his first major step toward achieving that dream. By writing and directing Iscariot himself, Kennar shows a commitment to taking full creative control, a shift from relying on external collaborators. This shift demonstrates his growth as an artist and storyteller.

The film premiered at 8 PM on 25 November 2025 on Kennar’s YouTube channel. Media outlets framed the release as a milestone for Kenyan creatives, noting the significance of a well-known comedian transitioning to feature filmmaking with an Oscar‑oriented ambition.

Kennar’s career has seen highs and challenges. He once ventured into the restaurant business but closed that chapter to focus entirely on content creation and storytelling. His decision to study filmmaking and creative writing in Johannesburg underscores his commitment to developing filmmaking skills. That background offers him tools to write, direct, and potentially deliver more polished cinematic works in the future.

Iscariot represents a pivotal moment in Crazy Kennar’s career. It moves him from social‑media comedy to serious filmmaking. By writing and directing his own feature film, he stakes a claim on a future in cinema rather than short‑form content only. For a creator who publicly set a goal of winning an Oscar five years ago, Iscariot is more than a film, it is a milestone.
