Veteran actor Daddie Marto has publicly apologised following a series of emotional posts exposing his troubled marriage with wife Koku Lwanga. After days of airing grievances, Marto has shifted focus to healing and protecting his family.
Earlier, Marto shared private messages between Koku and a spiritualist, revealing advice she received to let go of their marriage. He accused Koku of emotional abuse, calling her a narcissist who refused to heal. Marto also denied allegations of physical abuse against him, claiming Koku was the aggressor.
In a recent post, Marto said he had taken time to reflect with friends, family, and elders. He expressed regret for the public airing of their issues. “I was angry, frustrated, and I broke. I am human, and we have our limits. I am sorry for the ugliness,” he wrote.
He announced he deleted the controversial posts and will stop discussing their marriage publicly. Marto called on Kenyans to pray for him, his children, and his family.
Marto revealed his new mission is to confront the spiritualist, Mark Christopher, who he claims has blocked him after questioning Koku. He said, “I am now in the spiritual battlefield, awake and aware… It might be too late for me and the mother of my children as a couple, but it is not too late for us as parents.”
The spiritualist responded, accusing Marto of sharing only a partial narrative. Mark Christopher said he initially reached out to Koku and that she wanted to fight for the marriage despite warnings. He also alleged Koku discovered Marto’s other relationships after seeing him bring another woman into their home.
On financial matters, Marto claimed he took a loan to help build Koku’s family house, causing setbacks. Koku countered, saying her parents had sent substantial funds—over KSh 3 million—to support the project. She suggested Marto was misled by someone, complicating completion of the house.
Daddie Marto’s apology and call for privacy mark a turning point in the public drama. His focus now lies on protecting his children and restoring peace away from social media.
