Irene Nekesa, a former nanny for Kenyan celebrities Bahati and Diana Marua, has recently moved into her own home after years of service in their household. The transition, however, has been financially challenging for her. In response, social media influencer Dem Wa Facebook extended a helping hand, visiting Nekesa’s new home and taking her shopping for essential items.

Nekesa’s Call for Assistance

After leaving the Bahati residence, Nekesa shared a heartfelt video showcasing her modest bedsitter, admitting she was struggling to pay rent of KSh 6,000. She also appealed for household items and offered to promote furniture makers on her social media in exchange for their support.

Nicholas Kioko’s wife was among the first to help, gifting Nekesa a bed and sofa. Shortly after, Dem Wa Facebook joined the cause, bringing more relief to the former nanny.

Dem Wa Facebook’s Generosity

In a YouTube video, Dem Wa Facebook visited Nekesa, playfully commenting on the compact size of her house. She then accompanied her to a supermarket, purchasing basic necessities such as cooking oil, salt, and flour. The influencer revealed that another well-wisher had initially planned to buy a bed and sofa but decided to fund her shopping trip instead.

Dem Wa Facebook also encouraged Kenyans to contribute towards Nekesa’s rent for the coming months, highlighting how a little support could make a significant difference in her life.

Public Reactions

The act of kindness drew widespread admiration from Kenyans, with many commending Dem Wa Facebook for her generosity. Comments flooded in with suggestions, including paying Nekesa’s rent for a year to ease her burden.

@winfredjemutai8717: “The respect and love you give out to other people is returning to you.”
@ElinahNyangasi: “Irene is my neighbor. I had to go greet her.”
@Sheilah_Shee: “Paying rent for one year can assist her.”

Nekesa’s Financial Journey

Irene Nekesa previously revealed that she earned KSh 100,000 monthly while working for Diana Marua and Bahati. Following her appeal for help, questions arose about her financial management. However, Nekesa refrained from addressing these inquiries, focusing instead on rebuilding her life independently.

The support Nekesa has received reflects the power of community and compassion in helping individuals overcome challenges. With the help of kind-hearted individuals like Dem Wa Facebook and others, Nekesa’s journey to self-reliance is gaining momentum.
