Alcohol consumption has always been controversial. Some studies have revealed that some ethyl beverages, such as wine or tequila, could have health benefits.

However, the truth is that in Covid-19 times, people would have to refrain from ingesting.

For starters, and denying a rumor that has circulated in networks, according to the World Health Organization, consuming alcohol does not protect against the new coronavirus pandemic, quite the contrary.

Here the real reason

The excessive consumption of this substance in healthy young adults has been shown to significantly alter the immune system (the body ‘s natural defense against infection), it reveals research at the Faculty of Medicine of Chicago, Loyola University.

To reach this conclusion, in the analysis, depending on their weight, the participants took between four to five shots of vodka. After twenty minutes and having reached a state of intoxication, it was observed that the immune system accelerated and after five hours, it became slower than when it was sober.

After the peak of intoxication, the researchers found the opposite effect: fewer circulating monocytes and natural killer cells, and higher levels of different types of cytokines indicating that the immune system becomes less active. “

In addition to the above, alcohol makes individuals more prone to burns, falls, accidents, and traumatic injuries.

Alcohol abuse also damages bones and in teens can increase the risk of mood disorders. Avoid it not only in Covid-19 times!
