Deputy President William Ruto announced that Harambee Stars players will be gifted with 50 million shillings if they beat Ethiopia on Sunday ahead of the AFCON 19 qualifications.

A win at the Kasarani Stadium will mean that Stars would qualify for the coveted competition since 2014 when they were featured on the competitions.

DP Ruto also revealed that already they have released 25 million shillings Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had requested for round three and four match preparations

“We had some delays with the allowances but it has been resolved. We have released the Sh25 million by yesterday for the team to prepare for this match,” he said

“You will get your bus next month and if you win on Sunday, the government will give Sh50m, ” Mr Ruto said.

Captain Victor Wanyama asked the government to rally more support for the team building.

“We’ve been having some challenges but hopefully the government can come in one or two weeks before for better preparations, ” said Wanyama.

Harambee Stars currently sits top on the table, and a win at the tie at Kasarani will guarantee them a spot in AFCON 2019 competition
