A driver only identified as Kevin has claimed that the Ministry of Health led by CS Mutahi Kagwe were not properly informed of the case where he was arrested with others for cheating a funeral.
During one of his recent reports, CS Mutahi stated that a group of individuals ferried an empty coffin claiming to be heading for a funeral.
“We have noted that there are some people who are not complying with the movement restrictions in and out of counties and even from neighbouring countries. The Governor of Homa Bay informed me this morning of a group of people who travelled from Nairobi in a private vehicle pretending that they were attending a funeral, fully equipped with an empty coffin to illustrate that they were mourners.
“Those people travelled all the way from Nairobi during this period when we have stopped movement from Nairobi. They managed to go from Nairobi and all the way to Homa Bay and thanks to the Governor and his team in Homa Bay they were effectively put in quarantine and today I confirm that the driver is positive. This person has managed to take the disease to Homa Bay and now that county has its first case,” CS Mutahi Kagwe reported.
Well, the driver is bringing up a different story .
He claims that all allegations were not well informed and he actually have all the proof to show he was heading to a funeral.
Kevin stated that he is not sick nor does he show any mild symptoms to suggest he is COVID-19 positive.
The driver further alleges that he is being held unfairly in the quarantine
