Kenya National Examination Council-KNEC have announced that Kenya Certificate of Primary Education will be announced today in Mombasa.
Education CS Amina Mohammed will announced the results from State of the Sea Primary School at 1pm.
Pupils who sat for the 2018 exams are asked to send their Index Number to 20076 just after the release of the exams
Facts about KCPE 2018
- During day one, the pupils will take Mathematics, English language and composition followed by Science, Kiswahili and Insha on day two and finally on day three Social Studies and RE will be taken
- The country will have 27,161 exam centres with 65,107 invigilators supervised by 27,354 supervisors
- Five choppers will be on standby to offer any emergency cases during the administration of exams.Also 54,322 number of police officers will be expected to take care of KCPE exams security
- About Ksh.237.2 million will be spent during the three day KCPE exam in 2018. Exam centre managers will pocket Ksh.1,500 per day
- Any damage caused to the exam materials will earn one Ksh. 5 million or imprisonment of about 5 years
- Those who break or leake exam materials will be in for 10 years or pay fine of Ksh. 2M
- Pupils caught in exam irregularities will be fined 2 million, or 2 years in prison and will spent 3 years for them to be eligible to sit for another KNEC exam
- In 2018, a total of 1,060,703 candidates will sit for exams as compared to 2017’s figure of 993,718
- The exam will have 531,548 number of boys and 529,155 number of girls sitting for exams
- In 2017, Kenya had a mean score of 52% which was a point decline as compared to 2016
