The burial of gospel singer Betty Bayo brought deep emotion as her husband Hiram Gitau and her ex-husband Pastor Victor Kanyari delivered powerful tributes in her honor. Both men spoke openly about their memories with her and the impact she left on their families.

Hiram Gitau described the silence that now fills their home. He said the house feels empty without her laughter. He spoke about the pain of losing the person who helped him navigate life. He said he still turns to share thoughts with her and finds only silence.

He remembered the small routines they shared. He mentioned late conversations, glances they exchanged over their children, and the simple activities that shaped their marriage. These memories now carry a heavy ache.

Hiram spoke about their children, Sky and Dani. He said they are his priority. He promised to protect them and support them. He said they carry their mother’s love and called them her living legacy.

He also promised to take care of Betty’s mother and maintain the family unity she valued. He said the families always came together during Christmas and that the tradition will continue. He noted that Betty’s birthday was close and said her family will honor that day every year.

He said he remains shattered but not broken. He thanked God for the years they shared. He said that although the loss is painful, he believes God did not want her to suffer. In his final words, he asked her to rest and watch over the family until they meet again.

Pastor Victor Kanyari also shared a heartfelt tribute. He spoke about meeting Betty 13 years ago. He said she was a shy young woman with a calm and warm personality. He remembered how quickly they connected and how natural their relationship felt.

He talked about their humble beginnings and long conversations about their dreams. He said they started living as husband and wife within months. They later welcomed two children. He described how much of Betty he sees in each child.

Kanyari apologised for the hardships Betty faced during their time together. He said his name and controversies brought pressure into her life. He praised her for never turning their children against him. He said she raised them with kindness and humility.

He remembered moments when both of them faced public scrutiny. He said she handled challenges with strength. He admired her hard work, resilience and her deep faith.

He said Betty will always remain part of their lives. He said he may have failed her in some ways but will not fail their children.

The funeral brought together mourners, clergy, friends and public figures who gathered to honor the life of the gospel singer. The tributes from Hiram Gitau and Victor Kanyari showed the depth of Betty’s impact on the people closest to her.
