Equity Bank Fires Manager ‘Chewing’ Their Female Interns

Equity Bank announced that they have fired unknown manager over claims that he has been sexually harassing students on attachment.

The manager is said to have taken advantage of Equity Leaders Programme where he favored certain ‘interns’ based on sexual handouts from the female interns.

The bank released a statement on 7th November to clarify the move

“The Group has taken necessary measures in line with its policies and procedures, including disciplinary measures, and in some cases termination/separation of employment of certain staff,” said, the group chairman designate.

Investigations into the matter was also said to be in progress

Sexual harassment/assault in the workplace is totally unacceptable. We at Equity Group have chosen to share our experience openly and raise awareness on this issue of public interest,” he added.
