In a heartwarming display of philanthropy and commitment to improving education, comedian Eric Omondi, in collaboration with his Sisi Kwa Sisi movement, has successfully built a school in Turkana County in just one day. This remarkable feat comes after a heartfelt video was shared on social media, where Eric and his team showcased the new school, equipped with uniforms, books, and shoes for the children.
The school, which was named Teacher Kamaret Primary School in honor of Elizabeth Kamaret—a dedicated female teacher who has been teaching children under a tree—symbolizes the power of community-driven change. Eric expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the education of young learners in the area and praised the selflessness of Kamaret, who had volunteered her time to educate these children despite the challenges.
In his post, Eric acknowledged that while the school was built quickly, there is still much work to be done. More classrooms are needed, and more than half of the children still lack uniforms. However, the comedian remains committed to furthering the project and supporting these children, with plans to continue his work in the region. In addition to the school, Eric provided the students with uniforms, shoes, and writing materials, ensuring that they have the tools they need to succeed.
The response from Eric’s followers was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing admiration for his efforts. Some even inquired about ways they could contribute to improving the conditions for the children in Turkana. “Aaaaaaaah Erico manze…. I’m so emotional right now. God akubless sana mtu wangu,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “500M ya Grammy could have helped improve the state of education in this area…But God sent Erick.”
This philanthropic gesture is just one of the many ways Eric Omondi has used his platform and resources to give back to the community. His fans and supporters continue to stand behind him, eagerly anticipating his next move in transforming lives across Kenya.
