Facebook Nairobi Start Up Contest Is Ready

A 15 startup African competition ready to be hosted in Nairobi by the biggest social network Facebook is ready to commence in days time.

The winner of the competition will have a price tag of USD 25000 which is an equivalent of close to Ksh.2.6 million.

Over 1000 firms submitted their applications

The event has been organized in collaboration with a US tech news platform TechCrunch which is familiar with organizing such completions.

Besides the money price tag, the winners will also be entitled to the San Fransisco event dabbed Disrupt where exhibitors will compete against each other.

Facebook has seen more presence in Kenya which preceded over the CEO’s visit to Kenya in 2016.

In collaboration with Surf Kenya, Facebook have set up more than 600 hotspots of cheap WIFI connection which enabling young people connect to internet in bid to access information
