It is now clear that Joshua Waiganjo would be in the ballot box come 8th of August 2017 for the Njoro parliamentary seat.

Waiganjo could not be barred from contesting because the Constitution does not bar a suspect from vying for any seat he or she has qualified to go for.

Waiganjo would be going as an independent candidate.

“The body cleared him on the grounds that the constitution does not bar a convict from vying as long as he or she is still pursuing an appeal against his or her sentence”,Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati said.

Waiganjo came to limelight after impersonating a senior police position, yet he was just a junior in the police reserve unit
