Fellaris Wambui has officially taken on a new on-air role at NTV Kenya following changes to the station’s morning show lineup after the exit of Janet Mbugua from Fixing The Nation. Her appointment places her at the centre of one of Kenya’s most visible breakfast television programmes, where audience engagement and sharp discussion on current affairs remain key priorities. The move marks a major step in her career, transitioning her from behind-the-scenes communications and branding work into a high-profile broadcast position. It also signals NTV’s confidence in her ability to contribute to a programme that continues to evolve in format and audience expectations. Her entry introduces a fresh voice at a time when morning television remains highly competitive.

Wambui brings a strong background in both media and corporate communications, which positions her uniquely for the demands of live television. She has built her career as a Strategic Communications Consultant since 2018, focusing on brand strategy, marketing communication and audience engagement. This experience gives her a deep understanding of how messaging shapes public perception, a skill that is critical in a live broadcast environment. Her transition into television is supported by years of working in structured communication roles where clarity, timing and audience connection are essential. This foundation allows her to approach broadcasting with both strategic thinking and practical execution.

Her earlier experience in radio broadcasting also strengthens her readiness for television work. At Capital FM Kenya, she worked as a Broadcast Journalist where she hosted breakfast programming and contributed to content production. She also wrote and presented The Financial Forecast, giving her exposure to business-focused discussions and analytical storytelling. Working in radio required her to handle live audiences, manage fast-paced conversations and deliver content in real time. These skills translate directly into morning television, where timing, presence and responsiveness are crucial.

Beyond traditional media, Wambui has also established herself as a strong voice in advocacy and digital storytelling. She is the co-founder of Womanish By TGC, a platform focused on addressing gender inequality across Africa. Through this initiative, she has worked on amplifying women’s voices and promoting awareness around social justice issues. The platform uses storytelling and educational content to drive conversations that extend beyond entertainment into social impact. This advocacy background adds depth to her media presence and strengthens her connection with socially aware audiences.

Her professional experience also spans corporate branding and marketing leadership roles across multiple industries. She has worked as Brand Marketing, PR and Events Manager at Tile & Carpet Centre Ltd and as Marketing Manager at RAK Ceramics. These positions gave her hands-on experience in managing large-scale campaigns, public relations strategies and brand positioning. She has also worked with Afrindependent Institute and Kitchens & Beyond, further expanding her versatility across different sectors. This combination of corporate and media experience positions her as a multidimensional communicator capable of adapting to different audiences.

The shift at NTV Kenya places Wambui in a high-visibility role at a time when morning television continues to compete for relevance and audience loyalty. Her presence brings a blend of corporate communication precision and broadcast storytelling that may influence the direction of the programme. As she steps into this role, expectations are centered on how she will shape discussions and connect with viewers in a live setting. Her appointment reflects a broader trend of media professionals with diverse backgrounds entering mainstream broadcasting. It also highlights the growing value of communication experts who can bridge corporate strategy and public dialogue.

Fellaris Wambui enters NTV’s morning television space with a strong foundation in media, branding and advocacy. Her experience across radio, corporate communications and social impact initiatives positions her as a well-rounded addition to NTV Kenya. The move marks a significant expansion of her career into mainstream television broadcasting. Her blend of strategic communication and on-air experience gives her a unique advantage in shaping audience engagement. As she settles into her new role, she represents a new generation of media professionals influencing how morning television connects with viewers.
