“Fiorentina has renewed Astori’s contract, wages will go to the family, his wife and his daughter,” Malago said after a meeting of the Italian League, currently under the tutelage of CONI.

Malago described as “great gesture” the decision of the family Della Valle, owner of Fiorentina, thinking about the future of her daughter who is only two months old.

On Sunday, club president Andrea Della Valle said Astori was about to renew his contract, which only needed the signing and for that reason the owners of the club decided to give a lifetime contract to the player’s family.

Astori, Italian international, died on Sunday at age 31 in the room of the hotel La di Moret in Udine, where his team had to play a match of the 27th date of Serie A that had to postpone the meeting of the day on Sunday by this sad news
