Yesternight, fire (which looks annual) gutted down a section of Gikomba Market in Nairobi.
No injuries were immediately reported in the fire incident which claimed thousands of property.
In June 2018, a fire razed down Kwa Mbao section, killing 15 and leaving scores injured, on November 7th, fire again broke up in Gikomba but never claimed any life apart from properties.
Then Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had promised that he will set up a multi-agency team which will be formed to investigate the cause of the fire.
He also promised that his county office will work with the DCI investigators to find the cause of the perenial fires and prevent future incidences.
Since then, nothing has been done, as the perennial fires slowly become a norm in one of Africa’s largest open market.
