For dreaming, not to be left. McLaren has presented its concept of how the Formula 1 of the future will be, in particular back in 2050.
That year, the championship will celebrate 100 years and this is the particular homage paid by the single-seater manufacturer .
Thus, McLaren expects that in the Formula 1 of 2050 the cars reach the speed of 500 km / h in straight
And in fact shows us some images of what their so-called MCLExtreme would be like. A futuristic-cut car that reminds us more of a spaceship than a current Formula 1 car.
One of the great novelties is that the car will be adaptable according to the circumstances of the race: the sidepods will contract to maximize the speed and will expand for a greater stability in its passage by curve. Although in this artificial intelligence will have much to say .
According to McLaren, the AI will be almost like a co-pilot who will control different aspects of the car, the circuit and the rivals: the teams will spend a fortune in improving and perfecting it.
Thus, the drivers will be connected to the artificial intelligence of the car through a symbiotic link in the helmet and sensors inside the race suit.
The AI will learn and anticipate the driver’s preferences and mood. It will give a strategy in real time and all the key information of the race through a holographic screen. More than that: it will understand the mood of the driver .
But, beware, the AI will not be available all the time. There will be windows of time to use it, but there will be times when the drivers do not have it and they will have to demonstrate their natural talent in Formula 1 of 2050.
As expected, single-seaters or sidepods will be 100% electric but with some differences with respect to electric cars today. They will have a powerful electric motor attached to a flexible battery that would stick to the body.
They will be recharged by induction and their battery will fill up in just a few seconds , and a curious fact: the Formula 1 cars of 2050 will be able to steal energy from their rivals to overtake them.
Meanwhile, the cockpit of the cars will be transparent to see the reactions of the pilots. To make matters worse, your emotions will be projected through a play of colored lights on the body and tires . And the tires will repair themselves!
There will be major changes in the circuits, which will now have large slopes and super elevations, as well as being longer .
McLaren even proposes to Grand Prix through the streets of Milan. At 500 km / h we do not think it’s a good idea, really.
And what about the Lewis Hamiltons of the future? It is all thought (or so it seems). The drivers of 2050 will have smart monkeys that will adapt to the extreme conditions of these futuristic races: they will look more like pilots of fighter jets.
By the way, according to McLaren the super mobiles of the future will not be flying
So will Formula 1 of 2050.
