The revelations that Governor Okoth Obado was also engaged into a love secrete affair with his wife’s sister adds a fairy-tale to his current predicaments.
Kenya’s The Nairobian claim that Migori county First Lady Hellen Okoth’s sister Rhoda Odie Nyakwaka was engaged into a love affair that turned her an epic enemy with the county first lady.
The story becomes even bitter for the already depressed governor when it alleges that Rhoda terminated her 5 months pregnancy when things got thick and out of hand for the governor.
Accounts from Hellen and Rhoda’s side, claim that the shameful affair went on for along time, which even saw Rhoda land a lucrative county job in catering department, bought her a house in Migori town among other favors.
The only known fact is that Rhoda and Hellen were born of the same father from Kadika village of Suna Central sub-county. Rhoda’s mum was inherited when the husband passed away.
Rhoda’s predicaments went on when she was fired from county offices by Hellen, however allegedly continued to siphon salary as a ghost worker from the public coffer.
But when Rhoda was reached out for her take, she denied the allegations
“Those are lies. Hellen is my sister and I have never had an affair with the governor,”
Cliff Ombetta, Obado’s lawyer also sung the same song as that of Rhoda.
Likewise, Cliff Ombetta also defended his client claiming it was a cooked story.
Okoth Obado was accused to be a key suspect after the brutal murder of Sharon Otieno who was carrying his seven months baby.
Even though several suspects have been arrested, no one has since been charged as police continue with their investigations.
DCI boss George Kinoti promised to uncover the mystery before Sharon’s remains are lowered into her grave.
Sharon’s unborn baby has since been buried.
