Last Sunday, 16th June 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was caught on video tape assaulting a suspected phone thief.
The video was caught during Sonko’s visit in Madiwa, Eastleigh town when he visited to stop demolitions of houses termed to be on illegal land.
The suspect is seen being dragged towards Sonko, who moves fast and slaps the man.
“He is trying to run away governor,” a voice is heard saying.
The man is dealt with a heavy slap before Sonko comes loud with a question.
“Whom does the phone belong to?”
Local reports on the ground indicated that the man was part of the crew that was bringing down houses .
