The programme is a six months opportunity that allows graduates who have left university to get on job experience and learn from a great team of experienced journalists while contributing to various Standard Digital websites

Qualification and Skills:

• Exceptional writing skills.
• Recently graduated – with a degree in communication, journalism or any other creative field.
• Experience and knowledge in web publishing. 
• Willingness and ability to learn and work in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of video and social media platforms.
• Able to effectively and creatively use social media to engage audiences.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Video production and editing skills (an added advantage).

Your application letter should clearly indicate:

Responsibilities

1. News & Current Affairs desk
2. Business desk
3. Sports desk
4. Entertainment & Lifestyle desk
5. Eve Digital desk
6. Farmers.co.ke (Agriculture desk)
7. Feature writing desk
8. Social Media desk
9. Customer/audience engagement and management desk
10. Video production desk
11. Animations desk 

The trainees will;
• Work on various digital platforms under the guidance of a mentor.
• Interview news sources for web and video platforms. 
• Write creative content for various Standard Digital websites. 
• Monitor newsfeeds for breaking news and information.
• Generate articles from press releases, radio, television and web reports.
• Create and engage online communities.
• Generate visual content for various web platforms
