Who is Edi Gathegi? well, You have definitely seen him in several movies and television series such as CSI:Miami, Twilight, Twilight Saga:New moon, Xmen:First Class, Beauty and the Beast, Nikita, and recently in the Blacklist and the latest hot television series; In to the Badlands. Many will be surprised to know this since Lupita Nyong’o is one of the most famous Kenya celebrity we know who has made it to Hollywood,however, it’s times you know Kenyan blood spreads far and wide.
Edi Gathegi was born on 1979 in Eastlands (Eastlando-as we call it) in Nairobi Kenya. He was born in a family with three children and in his youth his entire family relocated to Albany California in the United States.
He attended New York University where he took up an acting course in the Tisch School of Arts. This is where he fell in-love with acting. This could not have happened since he only left University of California in Santa Barbara after he blew up his knee during a basket ball training.
My best role is why he played the vampire,Laurent back in 2008 and 2009. He was simply magnificent. His role as Jacobee in Into the Badlands is pretty cool as well. Whenever i watch him, i nod and say Kudos. Wherever Kenyans are,they are really proving themselves worth the name. I salute you #Ediegathegi
