In the successor of iOS 12 lies a lot of responsibility. According to what was last year, iOS 13 should have collected more than one novelty of iOS 12 that had to be postponed in favor of ensuring the stability and security of the system. Therefore, this year’s iOS update should bring interesting changes.
In addition, iOS 13 could solve one of the main criticisms that the new iPad Pro has received: the tablet has a huge gross power, with infinite possibilities, but it is very limited by iOS 12.
The thirteenth version could be more flexible (it does nothing that we have seen a very interesting concept of menus) and allow those iPad Pro advance a little more in the way of becoming the main computer of users with general needs or even for certain professionals.
But at the moment all this is not concrete news, there are no details about what we might expect. In terms of defined characteristics, this is what has been rumored to date:
News on the main screen. For the first time in history the iOS springboard could change to stop simply displaying the icons of the applications.
We could get to see widgets or some other element of that element that shows us additional information of each application, or we could have some functions directly displayed in that main screen to avoid having to repeatedly enter and exit certain applications.
Redesign of the Files application. The one that could be considered as the ‘Finder’ of iOS could win many functions, as I mentioned in an article a year ago. Of course there is room for improvement, especially when it comes to moving and organizing files and folders with ease.
Application tabs, something that we will understand much better when we see it in proof of concept but that would allow us to use several instances of an application at the same time.
One of the advantages would be to use those instances in the split view mode of iOS.
Redesign of the Photos application. Important point, because of the organization of photographs on iOS is one of the most important challenges of Apple.
Anything that they modify, in addition, will be reflected in both iCloud and macOS.
We will see what they achieve thanks to automatic learning, artificial intelligence and a pure improvement of the user experience.
