On April 15th 2021, Education CS George Magoha led the ministry in the release of KCPE exams which were done in 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are key facts about the KCPE 2020 exam results
- Mumo Faith is the best candidate in KCPE 2020 with 433 marks, Wesonga Nanzala comes second with 432 marks
- Ten out of 15 top KCPE candidates come from public schools, as eight girls scoop top positions,
- Female candidates performed better in English, Kiswahili and Kenya Sign Language while Male candidates performed better in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Religious Education
- A total of 1,179,192 candidates sat for the exams in 28,460 examination centres countywide.
- All the 1,179,192 candidates who sat for KCPE 2020 shall be admitted to secondary schools under the govts 100% transition policy . 9,000 learners to receive government scholarship
- Form One selection scheduled on May 28, 2021, placement will be done based on merit, CS Magoha announces.
- In the 2020 KCPE exams, the overall performance of candidates improved compared to the 2019 exams. The average performance of all candidates is higher.
How to check KCSE Results
To check KCPE results via SMS, parents, students or other interested individuals are required to send the candidate’s index number followed by the initials KCPE to 20076.
