Popular Kenyan comedian Chipukeezy is doing well in hospital, according to Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi.
Itumbi visited Chipukeezy in hospital on Wednesday and said that he was “doing well” and “responding to treatment.”
“I had a chat with him and we are happy with the progress with his medication and the Doctors here are doing a good job,” Itumbi said.
Chipukeezy was admitted to hospital on Tuesday after experiencing chest pains. He was initially diagnosed with pneumonia, but further tests revealed that he had a heart condition.
Chipukeezy’s fans have been sending their well wishes on social media. In a statement released on Wednesday, his brother, Duke Mike, said that the comedian was “receiving the best possible care” and that he was “expected to make a full recovery.”
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from his fans and friends,” Duke Mike said.
Chipukeezy is one of Kenya’s most popular comedians. He is known for his witty jokes and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
He has been in the comedy industry for over a decade and has won numerous awards, including the 2015 Kalasha Award for Best Comedian.
Chipukeezy’s fans are hoping that he will make a full recovery and be able to return to the stage soon.
