JKUAT Largest Hostel Gutted Down By A Blazing Fire

Yesterday an inferno blazed down the hostel at Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology Juja Campus which is located Juja town.
Hall six, which is the largest hostel, is believed to have been set on fire hours before the police responded prompting the students to engage the police in a rampage.

Students hurled stones to the police and the police responded with tear gas canisters. The men’s’ hostels was later contained by firefighters despite their late arrival.No casualties were reported during the midday sad event on.
Later on, the police managed to calm the situation though the cause of the fire remains unknown.Last week the JKUAT students were on riot protesting the death of one of their students who died due to doctor’s negligence at the university facility.
The students had taken to the blockage of the Thika Highway and vandalized the school eatery and lab facilities.
