Uhuru led coalition was dealt a blow when the Lamu governor opted for Amani coalition at their sacrifice after ditching CORD.
Issa Timmamy will be joining the Musalia Mudavadi led coalition ahead of the next general election which is scheduled just months away.
Mr Timamy who was elected on a United Democratic Front (UDF) ticket in 2013, was a strong critic of CORD siting marginalization and lack of transparency.
Mr Timamy could face a strong challenge from Lamu Senator Abu Chiaba for political battle in the county.
