Top media personality and former Citizen TV anchor Julie Gichuru was named as one of 100 Most Influential Africans of 2017 by The New African Magazine.

The publication also featured in 3 heads of state who made it to top 100 list namely

  1. Ghana’s Nana Akufo-Addo,
  2. Rwanda’s Paul Kagame and
  3. President Alpha Conde of Guinea.

Another popular category among the list, is the business and finance entry, which however saw largely one of the usual names.

Nigeria and South Africa topped in the 31 entry nominations from 31 African Nations.

The magazine has eight diverse categories which nominates successful Africans from both Africa and Diaspora. The nominations are majorly done peers and industry insiders.

For the first time in 5 years tenure, the magazine also published 42 women who made into the 100 list, which is the highest ever recorded
