Popular Kikuyu gospel artist and philanthropist Karangu Muraya has impressed fans by unveiling a sleek and modern chicken farm situated at his luxurious mansion in Gatundu, Kiambu County. Known for his musical influence and charitable work, Karangu revealed a different side of himself — that of a commercial-scale poultry farmer.
In a series of social media photos, Karangu proudly displayed trays of fresh eggs collected from neatly arranged, high-tech cages. The commercial-level setup features an ultra-clean environment, built-in feeding systems, and specially designed egg collection sections. Dressed in his usual stylish attire and glowing with pride, Karangu captioned the images with a heartfelt message: “Lord, I am grateful,” and gave a special shout-out to his friend Francis Muiruri Njeri for introducing him to cage-rearing.
The post quickly went viral, drawing admiration from fans and fellow farmers alike. Many expressed their dreams of owning similar poultry setups, noting how inspiring Karangu’s journey has been. However, the farm has not been without its share of controversy. Earlier, speculation swirled online when Carol Kim, Karangu’s second wife, was seen with a nearly identical chicken coop. This led to rumours that she had taken over responsibilities previously held by his first wife, Triza Njeri, who had moved out after raising concerns about being sidelined.
To clear the air, Carol clarified that her chicken farming operation is entirely separate and based in Nairobi, while Karangu’s farm is at their Gatundu home. Despite the gossip, the public’s focus has largely shifted back to the impressive nature of the farm and the success it represents.
