Renowned journalist Ken Mijungu has been unexpectedly fired from Cape Media’s TV47 just weeks after joining the station. The news of his dismissal has left many in shock, especially since he had yet to make his debut on air.

According to documents seen by TUKO.co.ke, Mijungu had written to TV47’s management requesting additional time to settle into his new role before making his first on-air appearance. However, instead of granting him the time he requested, the management responded with a termination letter, which was signed by the HR Manager, Lilian Makandi, on February 22, 2025.
The letter, titled “Termination of Contract,” acknowledged his request but stated that the company had decided to revoke his service agreement effective immediately.
